Pastor John is from Omaha and comes to Calvary Church from the United States Army Chaplain Corps, where he has served on Active Duty for over 15 years. Prior to his military service Pastor John served as fulltime faculty with the academic rank of Assistant Professor of History at Williams Baptist College (formerly Southern Baptist College) in Arkansas. Prior to his time at Williams he taught at Ozarks Technical Community College in Springfield, MO and at Concordia University-Nebraska in Seward, NE. John holds a B.A. and M.A. in history from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, an M.A. in Theological Studies from Assemblies of God Theological Seminary in Springfield, MO, and a Ph.D. in History from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He received ordination in Tampa, FL in 2008.
As a Regular Army Chaplain John did a one-year combat tour in Iraq and has deployed twice to Eastern Europe. Across the globe, Pastor John remains a diehard Husker fan!
